I love Mary Berry Cookbooks and was so excited to get this one! It has some great recipes…and at least one really bad one! We tried the Honey Chicken first. Wow. It was awful! The sauce was really terrible. We tried fixing it, but it just was not fixable. I literally ended up washing the sauce off of the chicken, we shredded it and added barbeque sauce and had pulled chicken sandwiches the next day!

On the bright side, the next recipe we tried was Chicken with Tomato, Mozzarella & Basil and it was awesome! It was so flavorful and delicious–we all loved it!! The One Tray Sausage Supper is easy to make and quite yummy! My family are not huge fans of beets (though I personally think they are fabulous roasted like this!), so I leave them off most of the time. Just add a few more potatoes and carrots and it’s still great! For a great side dish, try Masses of Mash–a variety of flavorful mashed potatoes to go with a good meat dish.

There are tons of recipes I still want to try: Individual Cheese, Tomato & Thyme Tartlets, Beef Bourguignon, Treacle Tart and Baked Lemon Curd Cheesecake to name a few.

Overall, this is a delightful cookbook, just as I knew it would be. Just ignore the Honey Chicken recipe and you’ll be good!
